FAQs

1. Why do I need to hire a professional copywriter?

I have been honing my craft as a copywriter for over a decade. I have perfected the use of words as a way to grab an audience's attention, sell a product and grow brand awareness. By all means, feel free to write your own copy. But, if you want copy that expresses your business better than you could ever articulate, then trust Pen 2 Paper Communications.

2. Do you specialise in a certain sector?

Although I have been fortunate enough to have worked in a wide range of industries, from education and culture, to finance and travel, I choose not to specialise in just one sector. As a freelance copywriter, I can be parachuted into your business to provide a fresh perspective. By not being a sector specialist, I will ask all the questions needed to draft copy that an outsider to your business and industry would ask. It is a process that works and once I am finished refining your copy, everyone that reads it will be an expert.

3. Can we meet face-to-face?

If you are based in Buckinghamshire, I can either visit your office or we can organise a place to meet. Equally, I can also carry out meetings via Teams, Zoom or Google Meet.

4. Will you require a lot of my time?

Other than our initial call and time to work through amends, I should not require much of your time. I am here to make your life easier so that you can focus on what is important to you and your business.

5. How much will my copy cost?

After our discovery call, where we will ascertain how Pen 2 Paper Communications can fulfil your copywriting needs, I will provide an estimate of the number of hours that I believe the project will take. Whilst I am working, I will track the time spent and will inform you if the actual timings start to exceed the approximate timings from the estimate. We can then agree on how to proceed.

6. Do I own the rights of the work that you produce?

When we start working together, I will share a contract with you to sign, which will detail the copyright and legal terms and conditions. Copyright and ownership of the work will remain with me until full and final payment is received, at this point copyright and ownership of the work will be automatically assigned to you. You can then use the work however you wish.

7. How long do I have to pay for a piece of work?

My payment terms are 14 days from my invoice being sent to you. As we approach the payment date, I'll remind you or your accounts payable team that the deadline is approaching. If you are unable to meet my payment terms, please let me know so that we can agree on an alternative payment plan.

8. Can I hire you for the day?

As long as there is clarity about the work I will be required to produce, I can be hired for a set amount of time and can work closely with your team to complete a project.

9. Can I see examples of your work?

I am happy to share links to my past projects. Drop me a message with the type of work that sparks your interest, whether it is web copy, marketing collateral or blog posts.
